Whilst working late, a secretary in a big company is attacked by a group of men, paralysing her from the waist down. A crusading neurologist and the threat of closure of the care home to which she moves become the twin focal points of her new life. This late film by Bengali director Tapan Sinha has his trade mark ingredients: an unshowy style, sincerity, social reform and a passionate humanism. 'Part of the Edinburgh International Film Festival'.
