Outer Mongolia, and with retirement beckoning at the local mine, train driver Old Zhu decides to visit his family - alone. His young apprentice, however, has other ideas; as their male camaraderie drifts through China's changing landscape, a beauteous road movie swirls across the screen like train smoke across an azure sky. Intimate in emotion, yet stunning in scope, this is cinema at its most rapturous. 'Part of the Edinburgh International Film Festival'.
