The first feature from visual artist Shirin Neshat is based on a magical realist novel by Shahrnush Parsipur. Telling the stories of four resilient women living in Tehran during the 1953 Iranian coup, this is a painstakingly constructed and insightful social and political commentary on the Iran of today as much as it is that of an Iran of the past.
