Jadup & Boel presents a portrait of a stagnant society in a small German town unable to forget or deal with an incident that happened shortly after the Second World War. It was banned in the GDR until the summer of 1988, when it was shown surreptitiously in just a few niche cinemas. Full of challenging subject matter, it offers a deep look into the structure of gender and hierarchy. We are delighted that director Rainer Simon will introduce the screening.
