A young boy (Craig Warnock) is escorted through time and space by a band of dwarves, meeting legendary heroes along the way before a final confrontation between good and evil. Imaginitive comic fantasy on a modest budget, but a series of witty guest spots and Gilliam's richly detailed screen style win the day.

This adventure-fantasy-comedy is a wildly imaginative trip to a new dimension in time and space, crammed with humour, action and spectacular special effects.

“a cheerfully irreverent lark - part fairy tale, part science fiction and part comedy”

The New York Times

Young time-traveller Kevin (Craig Warnock) encounters Napoleon (Ian Holm), Robin Hood (John Cleese), King Agamemnon (Sean Connery), and the sinking of the Titanic in this spaced-out romp through the heavens and history. But is this just random entertainment laid on for history fan Kevin’s benefit, or part of a wider struggle between the forces of good (Ralph Richardson) and evil (David Warner)?

Terry Gilliam co-wrote Time Bandits with fellow Monty Python member Michael Palin while George Harrison’s Handmade Films funded it. This is a much-loved classic which is bursting with inspired images and ideas - “a cheerfully irreverent lark - part fairy tale, part science fiction and part comedy” (The New York Times).
