A European filmmaker, who hits creative and financial trouble on location, flies to Hollywood to seek help and guidance but meets only disappointment. A profoundly despairing comment on the state of the cinema as an art form, this is notable for a cast of interesting eccentrics, and Henri Alekan's ravishing monochrome. A dour but satisfying trip.
