A rare insight into the artistic process of one of the world's greatest living painters. Gerhard Richter Painting takes us into Richter's studio in Cologne during the spring and summer of 2009 as he works on several large abstract paintings. We see the artist as he works and reworks his creations, sometimes choosing to destroy them and start again. Documentary maker Corinna Belz has created a quiet, intelligent and contemplative film that examines the act of creation, the relationship between an artist and their work and, in turn, the way we view and interpret the finished product. Part of Glasgow Film Festival 2012: Stranger than Fiction.
