The chorus-girl mistress of a gangster decides to better herself, but ends up falling for the guy employed to teach her a few refinements. Great acting and a witty script have ensured that the bubbles have never gone flat on this great Hollywood comedy. Later rehashed as 'The Girl Can't Help It2 and in a dreadful Melanie Griffith remake.
