In the year 1083 AD in Southern India, the son of the great poet Kambar of Karikala Chola’s court, Ambikapathy, falls in love with Princess Amaravathy. In order to have the royal consent for the marriage to take place and in accordance with class distinctions rules, the young man must write and sing a hundred poems. Will the young Ambikapathy succeed in this test of will and win the right to marry the woman he loves?
