Agents of the Office of Scientific Investigation are called to investigate the curious case of a shop where all clocks have ceased to work at a particular time, and where the metal items have all been magnetized. They eventually track down a doctor who confesses that he has created a microscopic being of which he has lost control, and which could cause the earth to spin out of orbit.
