Sluggish would-be thriller which seeks to explain the real-life 12-day disappearance of Agatha Christie (Redgrave) in 1926. A visual treat, all misty landscapes and chilly Edwardian hotels, but Redgrave isn't much more than a bundle of jangled nerves, Hoffman is at his mumbliest, and the fictional explanation tries too hard to convince.
