In 2286, a cylindrical probe is causing havoc. As it orbits the Earth it creates a catastrophic sun-blocking cover, and the Starfleet command sends out a planetary distress call and forbids starships from getting anywhere close. On planet Vulcan, the former crew of USS Enterprise are living in exile as they wait for Spock’s recovery. On learning about the cataclysm on Earth, they decide to time travel back to 1986 and save the world.
