Fleur, a 1930’s famous courtesan, falls in love with the son of a prosperous business family in Hong Kong, Twelfth Master Chan Chen-Pang. Their intense courtship is not of the taste of the man’s family and they both decide to live together in the afterlife by consuming opium. However once there, Fleur is all alone and waits for him for him for 50 years before she re-emerges in a changed city in 1987. She hires two journalists, An Chor and Yuen, to aid her in finding her lost love.
