Police detective William Somerset is seven days away from retirement. For his last case, he is joined by his soon-to-be replacement, David Mills. The case at hand is the discovery of an overweight man with his limbs all attached to a chair. Meanwhile, Mills leads an investigation into the savage murder of a lawyer lying by the words 'Greed' on the floor. The two detectives soon realise that both cases are closely linked. Indeed, the murderer’s crimes are inspired by the seven deadly sins.
