The residents of a picturesque small town are being victimised by a psychopath with a twisted love for scary movies. High school student Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) believes there is a connection between these killings and the murder of her mother several years previously. As the masked predator continues to mimic horror movies with real life acts of terror, it becomes clear that solving this mystery is going to be murder!

Scream is not only the definitive slasher film of the ‘90s, it’s also definitive horror movie of the decade. The genre was dead at the time, with few horrors getting cinema releases, with those that did performing poorly at the box office. But Wes Craven rejuvenated the genre, with Scream proving a hit with critics and audiences alike. There were sequels, knock offs and most recently a TV series, but the original still retains its playful power.
