In a Romeo and Juliet-style drama, the friendship between two children growing up in Cuba is threatened by their parents’ cultural and class differences. The upper-class single mother of Malú (Malú Tarrau Broche) disapproves of her relationship with poor socialist Jorgito (Jorge Milo), whose mother, in turn, staunchly defends her common background. When Malú’s mother plans to leave Cuba, the children set off on an adventure to the opposite side of the island to find her father and persuade him against signing the forms that would see the star-crossed companions separated forever.
