Set on the eve of Margaret Thatcher’s 1979 election victory, Sus is Barrie Keeffe’s own adaptation of his own play, which tackles the issue of racism and the British police. Morally charged, the film depicts the brutal conditions and horrific means used by two racist officers to entice an unemployed black man into confessing to the murder of his wife.
