Ginger (Fanning) and Rosa (Englert) are teenage best friends in early 60s London whose lives are disrupted by the looming Cuban missile crisis and the unreliability of the adults around them. Potter adeptly captures adolescent intensity without mocking it, and Fanning in particular gives a committed, delightful performance.
