Pip (Irvine) is a poor orphan who wants to become a gentleman; thanks to a mysterious benefactor, he soon becomes involved with Estella (Grainger) and her eccentric mother Lady Havisham (Bonham-Carter). Despite an all-star cast, the flat and uninspired script makes for an overlong and limp adaptation.
