How can past traditions inform the present?
This intriguing mixture of fiction and documentary is built around the traditional sheep-washing competition of Hasanpasa, a village in southwest Anatolia. After failing in the contest, a young shepherd decides to trade in shepherding for a job in the city, but he quickly becomes disillusioned. The film asks a question that is more urgent than ever: how can people learn from the past to live more meaningfully and sustainably in the present?
