Indie set in an American chess programmers' tournament in the early 80s, exploring the relationships between the misfit contestants. Bujalski (Funny Ha Ha) maintains his customary focus on outsiders to a world which doesn't quite have a place for them; his idiosyncratic approach, hilarious yet sombre, is exploratory and sophisticated.
