An experimental portrait of a chronicler of Africa and a love letter to the continent.

Seeking to get away from an ageing Europe, Raymond Borremans (1906–1988) escaped to Ivory Coast while in his 20s. An adventurer, musician, projectionist and entomologist, he found there a new home and spent his life chronicling this once-rich African country. Unfortunately, his planned encyclopaedia of Ivory Coast was left unfinished at the letter N. This unique film-essay follows Borremans' traces in Africa, creating a poetic dialogue between his reflections and the glorious past, the devastating present and the ambiguous future.
