Humour and gore wrapped up in an environmental theme
Once again, Eli Roth justifies his position at the top of the fantasy/horror genre ladder with this startling and depraved take on cannibalism. A group of politically-correct college students from the US become innocents abroad when they travel to the Amazon in a naive attempt to save a tribe of native Indians from exploitation by Western developers. The best and the worst of the human condition are shockingly revealed as the young activists fight to avoid becoming fodder for the very people they have come to save.
