In early 19th century Germany, suicidal poet Henrich (Friedel) fixes on timid housewife Henriette (Schnoeink) and tries to persuade her to partner him into the hereafter. Based on the true story of writer Henrich von Kleist; much of the self-imposed desperation and gloom is seriously amusing if you take it as a satire on extreme Romanticism but take it totally seriously and you may want to kill yourself.
