Ten years after the events of 2010's Monsters, American soldiers are sent to the Middle East to control insurgent groups that have sprung up during the war against the aliens. A two-hour-plus, testosterone-fuelled barrage of guns, bombs and male posturing, with a story that exists merely to hold the explosions together, it's a massive disappointment.
