A familiar but handsome film telling the story of Eugene Cernan, the last man to visit the moon. Cernan made his way from a rural upbringing on a farm with no electricity to become one of the gilded few scientists deemed worthy of representing America in space. Here, this biographical film looks back at what he loved and lost during his eight years in Houston. Cernan is a wise, warm presence throughout, though the film can be wearying in its reliance on cliché.
