Married family man Julien (Amalric) and pharmacist's wife Esther (Cleau) meet every Thursday in a hotel room to carry on their passionate affair, but then Julien becomes the prime suspect in a crime. Elegantly crafted but sketchy and insubstantial thriller, which never quite conveys the all-consuming intensity of the affair.
