It's Christmas Eve in a small Spanish town, and it is decided that every wealthy household is to host a homeless person for dinner. The celebrations also include a parade, and in it is Placido, a man out of money and struggling to make ends meet. His family live in a public bathroom, and if he cannot find the money to pay the second bill of his vehicle (a humble three-wheeler) he will lose it.
