Besides looking charming – and wondrously beautiful where appropriate – the English-language version of this enchanting animated feature boasts many strong vocal talents as it tells the story of the last of the selkies, a child named Saoirse. It is shaped from its director's love of Irish legend, folklore, nature and culture, and makes for a beguiling blend of the unfamiliar and culturally specific with the universally appealing.
