New York-set musical about struggling actress Cathy (Kendrick) and her five-year relationship with novelist Jamie (Jordan). A mostly moving and enjoyable sing-along session, with Kendrick especially good, although Jordan's theatrical tendencies don't transfer too well to the big screen.
This film is not currently showing in cinemas.
***There are two sides to every love story*** Film adaptation of the Broadway musical starring Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect, Into the Woods, Up in the Air). A struggling actress and her novelist lover each illustrate the struggle and deconstruction of their love affair taking place over a five year period.
Jamie (Jeremy Jordan), a young, talented up-and-coming novelist falls in love with Cathy (Anna Kendrick), a struggling actress. Their story is told almost entirely through song. Cathys songs begin at the *end *of their relationship and move backwards in time to the beginning of their love affair, while Jamies songs start at the *beginning *and move forward. They meet in the middle at a critical crossroads in their relationship.
