This powerful documentary about photographer Sebastião Salgado, who embarked on a project which pays tribute to the planet's beauty, capturing wild fauna and flora and grandiose landscapes, is every bit as immersive as Wenders’ last documentary, Pina. It has been co-directed by the subject’s son, Juliano Ribeiro Salgado, and explores how Salgado’s own globe-trotting existence is just as fascinating as those he photographs. Despite lacking any nods towards Salgado’s artistic influences, this film leaves you both traumatised and tantalised; his work can be difficult to take in at times, but there is no doubt you’re left wanting more.
