Hector (Mullan) is a homeless pensioner making his annual journey from Glasgow to London to spend Christmas at a relief shelter. The antithesis of British cinematic miserabilism, thanks to Mullan's superb work as the warm and likeable central character. The supporting cast is also excellent and photographer Gavin's directorial debut is wonderful, uplifting stuff.
