Dramatisation of the last days of Italian director Pier Paolo Pasolini (Dafoe), who was murdered in 1975. Ferrara makes no attempt to bring the viewer up to speed on Pasolini's life and work, but his approach is unconventional and rigorous, and with a magnetic performance from Dafoe, this is the director back on his best form.
