Join us for a ground-breaking silent documentary with a newly commissioned electronica/acoustic soundscape performed live by acclaimed jazz duo Herschel 36.

*Wunder der Schöpfung *is an extraordinary and unique document of human knowledge about the world and the universe in the 1920s, literally translated as ‘Wonder of Creation’. Fifteen special effects experts and nine cameramen were involved in the production of this beautifully tinted and toned film which combines documentary scenes, historical documents, fiction elements, animation scenes and educational impact.

Jazz duo Herschel 36 bring together the drum skills of Stuart Brown and keyboard talents of Paul Harrison, drawing on their jazz instincts and revelling in a world of glitchy electronica, break beats and noisy soundscapes. For *Wunder der Schöpfung *they join us to play their live accompanying score which was commissioned by, and premiered at, the Hippodrome Festival of Silent Cinema earlier this year.

A HippFest commission, part of CineScore Live, a touring season of live music and film events supported by Film Hub Scotland.
