Djata (Allchurch) lives in an isolated totalitarian homeland; when his dad is whisked away, his mother Hannah (Deyn) tries to find a solution. Despite crisp photography and an impressive cast (Allchurch and Deyn are good, as is Scacchi as a sly, sexually exploitative general) which help compensate for a modest budget, the film never quite finds the right tone.
