Ben (Rudd) takes a job as caregiver to Trevor (Roberts), who has muscular dystrophy. Roberts and Rudd do persuasive work but it's a cliché to cast an able-bodied actor as a disabled character who's the instrument of enlightenment for the able-bodied protagonist, and the film treats women mostly as plot devices or sex objects.
