Emily Dickinson (Nixon) is a quick-witted, intelligent woman living in 19th century Amherst, Mass., debating with her Catholic lawyer father (Carradine) and pious aunt (Badland). Compelling portrait of the great American poet, with brilliant work from Ehle as Emily’s younger sister and a barnstorming performance from Nixon, combining wit with vulnerability.
