Jimmy (Harris) is a former junior amateur boxing champion who’s battling alcoholism as he deals with the death of his beloved mother and his return to the ring. Harris’s committed performance can’t compete with the likes of McShane or Winstone in smaller roles, and it’s a slight and stereotypical story, but authentic and lovingly made if not wholly successful.
