Elwood P Dowd (Stewart) is a nice, pleasant man who just happens to have an invisible friend resembling a six foot rabbit. Classic adaptation of Mary Chase's brilliant play, this features one of Stewart's most memorable roles. The film is in fact a metaphor for the post war bewilderment that GIs faced on returning home.
